Mark Beazley (The Kennel Club)
Mark Beazley is the Chief Executive of The Kennel Club. He worked at Dogs Trust Ireland as Executive Director and as Chief Executive to the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA). He has also chaired a number of groups including the Companion Animal Working Group at Eurogroup for Animals and the International Greyhound Forum.
David Bowles (RSPCA)
David Bowles is the head of Public Affairs at the RSPCA. He manages the RSPCA’s strategy in 30 countries, the political work in Europe, Westminster and local government along with its campaign work. David has worked for the RSPCA for 15 years and prior to joining the RSPCA, he worked for 15 years in zoos and with undercover organisations looking at the illegal trade in birds, ivory and endangered species. |
Margaret Roberts (Cats Protection)
Margaret qualified as a vet at the University of Edinburgh in 1986. While pursuing her career in private small animal practices, she developed a keen interest in feline welfare, and her work included helping to neuter the feral cat population in Portsmouth Dockyard. She first came to work for Cats Protection in 1997 when she was appointed as the charity’s first Veterinary Officer, then returned to the charity as Head of Veterinary Services in 2006. Maggie was made Director of Veterinary Services in 2008. Maggie is also a founder member of the recently formed Association of Charity Vets. |
Paula Boyden (Dogs Trust)
Paula graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1992. She then spent 11 years in general practice before joining Intervet / Schering-Plough Animal Health as a veterinary adviser in 2003. She joined Dogs Trust as Deputy Veterinary Director in June 2010 and became Veterinary Director in August 2011. |
Richard Hooker (PDSA)
Richard is the Director of Veterinary Services at PDSA. A graduate of Glasgow University Veterinary School, Richard spent two years in a large mixed practice in Staffordshire before joining PDSA in 1996 as Veterinary Surgeon at Aston PetAid hospital in Birmingham. He later moved to Stoke-on-Trent PetAid hospital as Senior Veterinary Surgeon. |
Nigel Baker (Pet Industry Federation)
Nigel joined the Pet Industry Federation in December 2012. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the pet trade and brings considerable commercial experience from the senior positions he has held in pet food manufacturing and supplier companies. Most recently, he has acted as a consultant to a number of businesses advising them on a range of issues to help them develop commercially. |
Kelly Grellier (The Blue Cross)
Kelly is the Chief Operating Officer at Blue Cross. She has been with the charity for five years and most recently developed an innovative new strategy as Rehoming and Behaviour Director, establishing a new operating model, partnership collaborations and a Welfare Board to cement Blue Cross as a leading organisation driving policy change, ethical welfare approaches and evidence based expertise. |
Mike Webb (Battersea Dogs & Cats Home)
Michael is the Head of Policy and Public Affairs at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, where he has been since January 2014.At the Home he leads the team that plans and carries out Battersea’s political engagement and policy development, which researches and shares Battersea’s public positions on all dog and cat policy issues. In his three and a half years he has worked on a wealth of dog and cat issues including reform of Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act, compulsory microchipping and opposition to Breed-Specific Legislation. |
Adrienne Conroy (BSAVA)
Adrienne MVB MRCVS is the Head of Policy and Communications at the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA). She has been involved in various activities across the veterinary profession for both BVA and RCVS. These have encompassed participation in working groups, representation on BVA Council and membership of small and large animal associations, including those relating to public health and government. She has also been past President of the Association of Government Vets ( AGV ). |
